To help remedy this, I would suggest making multiple game save slots every now and then. Just as you are going along, make sure you keep an eye on all eight missable trophies, so you don't unintentionally miss one. There are other missable trophies, but they can be earned after the main quest still as they are not tied to the main quest line or any specific Act. There are a couple of trophies you will want to keep a close eye on while going through the main quest line, so you do not end up missing them. The higher the monsters you kill, the more experience you gain, so keep that in mind. You can practically play the game anyway that you like, just explore everything and complete as many quests as you can.
